about
I wrote the bulk of this one on the 14th of February 2021 (hence the title). At the time I was putting the finishing touches to 'and a Stillness Washed Over Me' but it was before I'd sent it off to be mastered. During the writing of the EP I spent a few years tweaking songs, dropping them from the running order, re-discovering my passion for them and putting them back on the tracklist before binning them off again entirely to restart the cycle once more. After that experience, I decided I wanted to be a bit more immediate with future material and made a concerned effort to try and write a song in full quickly rather than letting it sit on my hard drive to be gradually added to over a number of months or years.
I did admittedly revisit 'Love Song' to make some tweaks and add some layers but it was less of a drawn out process than I had with the EP, with the reality being that I was sitting on the track unsure with what I wanted to do with it. I've got tired of holding onto this song deliberating over what I want my follow up to 'and a Stillness Washed Over Me' to entail and whether Love Song fits nicely into that release. I've got a bunch of ideas of what I want to do but we'll have to just wait and see how they come together.

Another great release from Bruit. I loved The Machine is Burning and had no idea they'd be back with something else soon but a great surprise. Max Penticost
I hadn't listened to these guys in years until recently deciding to start making my way through my whole bandcamp library from the beginning. I forgot how fun Hawk Eye's brand of riff based rock is. Max Penticost
